In recent reports was revealed that IU donates 300 million KRW, or 200,283 USD, to support those most in need on her birthday, demonstrating once again her generosity with retribution for her success.
On May 16th, the agency behind the idol, EDAM Entertainment, announced that she recently made a donation under the name IUAENA, a combination of hers and her fandom name, with the intention to help different charities.
The agency also revealed that the funds are divided into 100 million KRW, which was donated to Asan Medical Center. Meanwhile, the remainder was distributed in amounts of 50 million KRW to the organizations Walking With Us, Milk Delivery to Check on the Elderly, the Korean Association of Single Mother Families, and Walk Together.
The funds will be used to help patients facing financial difficulties, provide educational and cultural opportunities for children and teenagers, assist elderly individuals living alone, support vulnerable single-mother households, and provide advanced assistive devices for people with disabilities.
Throughout her career in the world of entertainment, IU has made many donations to celebrate important occasions like her birthday, debut anniversary, and year-end holidays, spreading positive influence and becoming one of Korea’s most influential philanthropic celebrities.
