Perfect Crown is set in an alternate version of Korea where the country functions as a constitutional monarchy in modern times. The story follows Sung Hee Joo, played by IU, a wealthy chaebol heiress who seems to have everything except noble status. Opposite to her is Grand Prince Yi An, played by Byeon Woo Seok, a royal prince who carries status by birth but has no real power. The K-Drama centers on the emotional and romantic bond between two people from very different positions in society.

The series is already building excitement ahead of its premiere due to its unusual setting and its two leading stars. The combination of royal themes, modern social class tension, romance, and the performances by IU and Byeon Woo Seok gives the drama a clear identity before its release. Perfect Crown is scheduled to premiere on April 10, 2026. The 12-episode K-Drama will air on MBC (Korea) every Friday and Saturday at 21:50 local time, and it’s expected to premiere for global streaming on Disney+
