Fanomenon is preparing to launch in 2027 as a large KPop festival designed to compete with major international music events such as Coachella. The festival was officially presented on July 27, 2026, during the Fanomenon Promotion Plan conference. It is being organized through a partnership involving the Presidential Committee on Popular Culture Exchange and South Korea’s four largest entertainment companies: HYBE, SM Entertainment, JYP Entertainment, and YG Entertainment.

The first Fanomenon is scheduled to run from December 2 to December 12, 2027, across Seoul and Goyang. The event will run for 11 days and include concerts, fan-focused awards, cultural exhibitions, and other activities. Culture, Sports and Tourism Minister Chae Hwi Young and JYP Entertainment founder J.Y. Park confirmed the plan. Park first discussed the project in October 2025 at KINTEX in Goyang, where he said that the goal was to “build a world-class K-pop venue and plan a festival that surpasses the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.”
Organizers say Fanomenon will not be limited to Korean performers. International artists are also expected to headline alongside major KPop acts, which could make the festival more attractive to the global public. The committee estimates that about 520,000 people may attend, including roughly 200,000 international visitors. Officials also expect the event to create more than 1 trillion won in economic activity through tourism, tickets, hotels, transportation, and local spending. The complete artist lineup, exact venues, and ticket prices have not yet been announced. More information is expected to be revealed as organizers continue preparing for the festival’s official December 2027 debut.
