Gates just wrapped up his first trip to South Korea in three years, where he met with Samsung’s Executive Chairman Lee Jae-yong and SK Group’s Chey Tae-won. He also had a meeting with President Lee Jae Myung to talk about social contribution projects led by the Gates Foundation.
Earlier in Tokyo, on August 20, he urged businesses and universities to boost research and development for vaccines and medical products to protect children in poorer countries. During his Asia visit in the third week of August, he also had a Japan-led global conference on African development.
