In a recent appearance by the K-Pop girl group, LE SSERAFIM, she accompanied Kim Jong Kook on his YouTube channel, where he recalled the moment that idols lived when they were forced by their agency to go on a diet.
In the documentary “The World Is My Oyster“, you can see the difficulties that the members experienced before their debut. Especially, the eldest among them, Sakura, revealed the grueling reality of her schedule as trainees and the damaging judgment received by her singing.

However, at one particular moment, the idol became uncomfortable during a meeting with her members and her management team. Her discomfort was due to the topic being discussed, the diet of idols.
Although it is not uncommon for K-Pop idols to go on strict diets, it is not appropriate.
In the documentary, the girl group’s manager seemed to ask them to go on a diet in order to prepare for their debut, but Sakura didn’t take it well and said through tears:
“We’ve been working really hard, I don’t want us to stress about this“.
“I’ve seen members fight and be criticized for these things“.
