The White House press office has become one of the biggest soap operas in Washington. Now Nicki Minaj has been dragged into the plot.

Katie Zacharia was named to succeed Karoline Leavitt, who left the role in August to spend more time with her two children. Her tenure didn’t last. Zacharia was on shaky ground from her first press conference, amid questions over her claims of being a lawyer despite not passing a bar exam. She gave her first and only briefing on Tuesday. By Friday, two White House officials said she was out of the role just five days into the job.
The White House described it as a transition. Multiple sources told ABC News she was “transitioning out” of the role and into a new position to be announced later. Trump himself told reporters he’d advised her to reconsider. The result is that the position has been vacant since October 16.
A vacant job is the perfect space for a rumor. The account @PobBase on X claimed that Nicki Minaj is being considered to take over the briefing room. Netizens had a blast. User @antaressiren joked: “Damn. Nicki being considered as Press Secretary before Kim Kardashian becomes a lawyer. What a time to be alive.” Another wrote: “Thank God this is a parody account.” More jokes followed.

So, is it true? No, not for now. There is no official announcement and no credible report saying Minaj is being considered.
Why the joke worked? Because Nicki Minaj has become one of Trump’s most visible celebrity supporters. In January, she attended the Trump Accounts Summit at the Treasury Department, where Donald Trump gave her a ceremonial Trump Gold Card. She has also called herself Trump’s “#1 fan.” In July, Trump praised her at a White House Rose Garden Club lunch, calling her a great friend.
