Recent reports announce that KATSEYE‘s Sophia will take a hiatus to prioritize her mental health, leaving the group with 4 members during their comeback promotions.

According to the HYBE x Geffen Records message through Weverse, the leader of the girl group will temporarily step back from her activities to take care of her mental health and well-being after feeling unwell. They revealed:

“Sophia has been receiving the utmost support, and following thorough consultations with medical professionals, it has been advised that she take dedicated time for extended rest and ongoing care to ensure a full recovery.”

Despite the idol’s desire to continue with her activities alongside her members, the agency’s priority is their artist’s health, so they will give all their support for her recovery process and assure them they “plan to reassess her condition in September” and update fans about her status.

In addition, Sophia shared a personal message with her fans through her Instagram stories, expressing how difficult and heartbreaking it was to make this decision; however, she now understands that it is the best choice for her to continue doing what she loves for many years.

“Thank you for being so patient, understanding, and always showing me so much love. It means more to me than I could ever say. I promise I’m going to work as hard as I can to get through this, heal properly, and come back stronger.”
