In a recent report, Buckingham Palace announced the withdrawal of Prince Harry‘s accommodation offer at the last minute after he accepted staying in this royal residency.

After weeks of speculation and reports about the Duke of Sussex’s upcoming visit to the United Kingdom, including King Charles‘ special invitation for his youngest son to stay at a royal residence during his activities in his native country.

On July 6th a spokesperson for Prince Harry revealed to CBS News‘ partner network the BBC that he accepted the invitation to stay at Buckingham Palace.

However, the palace informed the royal member he cannot stay in the residency after he missed a deadline at the end of last week to accept the offer due to the fact that they need a minimum of notice to host guests like the prince.

According to palace sources, several requests were made to receive an official response to this offer. When no response was received, the offer was formally declined on Saturday and subsequently accepted belatedly.

For his part, a spokesman for the Duke of Sussex stated that the offer was rejected after having been accepted: “It is therefore unclear why, having formally accepted the accommodation offer, it has now been withdrawn at the last moment,” generating confusion among the media outlets.
