During a recent interview, Park Ji Hoon shares his military enlistment plans for next year, 2027, shocking fans who don’t want to farewell him yet but impressing them with his determination.

On June 3rd, the Korean actor gave an interview in Seoul’s Jongno District to talk about his latest HBO Max project, ‘The Legend of Kitchen Soldier,‘ a military cooking fantasy drama where he plays a young soldier and military cook who faces mysterious experiences that increase his skills.

Park Ji Hoon talked about how some scenes of the drama helped him to briefly experience military life, but he acknowledged that this will not help him in real military life. He also spoke about the real difficulties of being a military cook, stating that his character was luckier.

The actor finally discusses his plans for military service: “I want to try entering a special unit,” he explains. He wants to go to an area where he can learn and try extreme trainings, like jumping from great heights.

“I want to apply and take the tests to join a place that requires volunteering. I think there would be a lot to learn there. I want to experience things like airborne training, rappelling from a helicopter, and jumping out.”

When talking about his enlistment date, he said, “The exact timing hasn’t been decided yet, but I’m in a situation where I have to go next year.” He also confesses that he doesn’t want to delay his enlistment, as he wants to be in good physical shape and showing his interest in joining the Marine Corps or a reconnaissance unit.

“I think I should go while it’s less difficult for me physically. I can’t delay it too long.”

Finally, the actor said he is not afraid of the military hiatus and fans forgetting him during this period because he plans on leaving prepared projects: “These days, a lot of actors film projects before enlisting. I want fans to feel like, ‘He’s already back?'”
