A few hours ago, Kate Middleton appeared publicly speaking perfect Italian at her first overseas engagement since her cancer diagnosis to support an important cause.
On May 13th, the Princess of Wales landed in Italy, where she was greeted with a handshake by the mayor of Reggio Emilia, Marco Massari, for a visit focused on the city’s renowned philosophy of early childhood development.
Upon her arrival, Kate Middleton impressed the locals by spending time chatting with a group of children and demonstrating her fluency in Italian, according to royal editor Emily and other witnesses who shared their experience.

Teacher Roberta Marzi revealed that the encounter was moving and that although she asked the children simple questions, “her Italian was perfect, and she spoke very clearly.” Five-year-old Alice spoke about her interaction with the princess: “She asked me my name in Italian. She spoke Italian very well.”
This recent interaction demonstrates the princess’s efforts to connect with people while visiting a new country with a different culture, highlighting her passion for her work and her commitments, as well as showing that her pause for cancer treatment did not alter her hardworking personality or kind heart.
