A few hours ago, Kate Middleton made a Mother’s Day post through social networks, which received criticism for the unusual choice of words.
On Sunday, May 10th, the Princess of Wales celebrated the 2026 Mother’s Day with a moving post on her Instagram account, a video of the party she recently hosted in the gardens of Buckingham Palace, where she met with members of the Maternal Mental Health Alliance.
However, Karen Middleton’s words sparked disappointment among royal supporters, as she referred to “mothers” as “birthing people,” causing social media users to question her choice of words and how Kensington Palace approved this message to be published.

These words were received with indignation among the royal supporters who, in their majority, expect the royal family to use and promote a traditional language instead of inclusive vocabulary that takes into account transgender men and non-binary people who can also gestate and give birth.
Some comments show support but others said “What’s a “birthing people”??? Say it with me…. WOMEN!” “Everything was fine then she dropped “Birthing people” and I closed my support. Women have babies no one else!!!” “I thought this was wonderful until I heard birthing person. May someone never refer to me as that. I love our Princess of Wales… but to hear that was a disappointment.”
