Princess Charlotte is celebrating her 11th birthday this Saturday, May 2, and her parents marked the occasion with a new portrait. Kate Middleton and Prince William shared the image on Instagram, giving royal fans a glimpse into the family’s dynamic and Charlotte’s special day. Photographer Matt Porteous took the photo during the family’s Easter break in Cornwall.

In the portrait, the 11-year-old stands in a field surrounded by flowers. She smiles at the camera while wearing a striped top, denim pants, and blue-painted nails. The Prince and Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton and William, kept their message simple, writing, “Wishing Charlotte a very happy 11th birthday!” The post quickly received warm reactions from people sending birthday wishes. In a follow-up post, the royal couple shared a clip of Princess Charlotte petting her dogs and playing outdoors. They also thanked fans for their birthday wishes:

“Thank you for the lovely birthday messages for Princess Charlotte, 11 today!”

Charlotte is the middle child of Prince William and Princess Kate. The couple also shares Prince George, who is 12, and Prince Louis, who is 8. Besides public events and royal duties, Princess Charlotte attends Lambrook School with her brothers, and her parents are often seen supporting their children at sports activities. The 11-year-old also enjoys dance and plays piano like her mother. In December 2025, she made her piano debut during Kate’s annual Christmas carol service broadcast. Even though she often appears in formal royal settings, the Princess continues to show a natural and cheerful personality.
