A night full of wins for Korean creativity

Important names in Korean entertainment and arts, such as KPop Demon Hunters’ Maggie Kang and THEBLACKLABEL’s Teddy, lit up the 2025 Korea Contents Awards in Seoul on December 10, 2025. The event celebrated creators who pushed Korean content onto the global stage, all supported by the Ministry of Sports, Culture and Tourism, along with the Korea Creative Content Agency.

The ceremony took into consideration a total of 24 creators and 15 standout productions. Categories ranged from Overseas Expansion to advancements in Broadcasting, Motion Pictures, Gaming, and the broader Content Industry. Basically, a moment to remember for any person involved in making Korean content this year.

Major honors and big-name winners

This year’s star was Maggie Kang, director of Netflix’s “KPop Demon Hunters,” who walked away with the prestigious Okgwan Order of Cultural Merit for her massive contributions to K content’s expansion globaly. The Overseas Expansion category also highlighted producer Park Young Suk of “When Life Gives You Tangerines” and Studio Slam CEO Yoon Hyun Joon of “Culinary Class Wars,” both earning Presidential Merit.

Similarly, producer Teddy of THE BLACK LABEL snagged the Prime Minister’s Merit thanks to his work on “KPop Demon Hunters” and the global debut of rookie KPop groups MEOVV and ALLDAY PROJECT. Meanwhile, in the Broadcasting and Motion Picture category, director Kim Won Seok of “When Life Gives You Tangerines” and superstar scriptwriter Park Ji Eun of “Queen of Tears” received high honors for their creative impact this year.

Productions that made the industry sparkle

The ceremony also spotlighted excellent Korean art and entertainment that truly left a mark in the past few years. Among the winners were the animated film “Heartsping Teenieping of Love,” the fan favorite fantasy idol webtoon “Debut or Die,” and the rising animated character Ganadi. Together, these projects show the diversity, creativity, and professionalism of Korean arts. Minister Choi Hwi-young expressed a few words, congratulating the award winners and their works.

“The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will spare no effort in providing comprehensive support to ensure that our content industry can continue to leap forward into the global arena. I hope that the award winners will take pride in being at the forefront of ‘K-culture,’ which they are all proud of, and continue to work hard in the future.”
