Anne Hathaway is making the ultimate comeback and serving double trouble! She’s stepping back into two of her most iconic roles. First, she’ll return as Mia Thermopolis in The Princess Diaries 3. Then she’ll dust off her Chanel boots to play Andy Sachs in The Devil Wears Prada 2. Both sequels were confirmed in early July 2025, and fans are officially hyped.

Filming for The Devil Wears Prada 2 is already in motion. Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci and Hathaway are all returning. Kenneth Branagh has joined as Miranda Priestly’s new billionaire husband. The plot follows Miranda battling the fall of magazine publishing, while Emily’s character now controls the luxury ad money Miranda desperately needs. Andy’s new role hasn’t been revealed, but it will for sure be juicy.

On the royal side, The Princess Diaries 3 will be directed by Adele Lim, the genius behind Crazy Rich Asians and Joy Ride. Julie Andrews hasn’t confirmed if she’ll return, but fans of the two films are crossing their fingers. The news of the third installment was confirmed by Anne Hathaway herself in an Instagram post. The movie star shared a video montage with clips from the first two movies and the caption “Miracles happen. Back to Genovia with @adeleblim @disney @somewherepictures.” And while details for this one are under wraps, one thing’s for sure: Anne Hathaway will give us the ultimate throwback with all the feels.
