BTS didn’t just own the charts, they marched straight into military service and totally bossed it. As all seven members stepped into South Korea’s mandatory enlistment, each took on different roles that show just how versatile these global superstars really are.

Time to break down who did what, in military style:

#1. Jimin: Squad Leader Face and Muse
Park Jimin flexed his leadership skills as a World-Class Squad Leader. From December 12, 2023, to June 11, 2025, he kept things smooth in the military. Before enlisting, he dropped his debut album Face on March 24, 2023. Then, he literally served both in the military and in music by releasing his second album Muse on July 19, 2024, while still completing his service.

#2. V: The Special Forces King
Kim Taehyung went full action-hero mode as a Special Forces Officer. Enlisting December 11, 2023, and discharged June 10, 2025, he still dropped his dreamy debut album Layover in September 8, 2023. While completing his service, he gave fans the hit single FRI(END)S in 2024. Taehyung really said “protect and serve… and slay!”

#3. Jin: Mr.Worldwide Drill Instructor
Jin went in first, enlisting in December 2022 and finishing strong in June 2024. As an Elite Drill Instructor, he whipped those recruits into shape. Before going into the military, he dropped his debut solo track “The Astronaut.” After being discharged, he released two albums: Happy in November 2024 and Echo in May 2025.

#4. J-Hope: Hope on the Drill Field
April 2023 to October 2024 saw J-Hope leading drills like a boss. He released his first album Jack in the Box, in July 2022 and was the first South Korean act to headline Lollapalooza in Chicago. On March 29, 2024, he dropped his second album, Hope on the Street Vol. 1, and has been releasing stand-alone singles believed to be part of an upcoming album throughout 2025.

#5. RM: Right Band Leader, in the Right Place
Namjoon made the Military Band Leader role look cool. Serving from December 11, 2023, to June 10, 2025, he kept fans enamoured with his acclaimed second album, Right Place, Wrong Person, in 2024, which dropped while he was still serving.

#6. Jungkook: The Kitchen’s Golden Maknae
Jungkook served as a Lead Cook Soldier after enlisting on December 12, 2023, and finishing June 11, 2025. Before enlisting, he made waves with his debut album GOLDEN, thanks to hits like Seven. He still cooked up bops like Never Let Go in 2024 while feeding both his squad and ARMY.

#7. Suga: Public Service Icon
Due to his shoulder surgery, Suga took the Public Service route starting September 22, 2023, and will wrap up June 21, 2025. Even on a different path, Yoongi still slayed.
