On the night of August 14 (KST), CUBE Entertainment released a statement that has shocked many Neverlands: Soojin has officially ceased being a member of (G) I-DLE.

The K-pop idol stood out as a singer and dancer since the girlband’s joint debut in May 2018.

She was also one of the artists most loved by fans. However, everything was overshadowed since mid-February this year, when allegations of school violence came to light.

Seo Soo Jin, 23, was accused on February 20 by the older sister of a former partner of being a perpetrator of bullying. According to the complainant, the idol exercised physical and psychological violence against her partner, and would have stolen money from her.

One person, who claimed to be the younger sister, reaffirmed the accusations. In addition to going into strong details about abuse and consumption of alcohol and cigarettes, she pointed out that the singer committed the acts with a group of girls. To this were added testimonies from other Internet users, where actress Seo Shin Ae was exposed as one of the allegedly affected.

At that time, CUBE Entertainment flatly denied what was pointed out against the artist of hers and she, in a personal statement published on February 22, rejected the incriminations of violence and theft, although she admitted to having smoked on occasions. As for Seo about her, he said that he had never conversed with her.

Then, on March 26, Seo Shin Ae spoke in support of her claims that pointed to her as one of the victims of violence, the actress stated that she suffered from verbal assaults by the singer for two years.

The pain that I received back then gradually turned into a bigger bruise and I started to develop a fear of people. That fear turned into trauma, it transformed my personality into an introvert, and it is true that it also became a huge barrier to entering high school.

It made me realize that not only physical violence, but also mental violence can remain an eternal pain in someone’s life
