WOODZ has established a strong presence across various South Korean charts with his smash hit, “Drowning.” The title track earned greater recognition among the fans and the K-Netizens and became a pivotal moment for the genre.
“Drowning” was originally released in April of 2023 as a B-side from WOODZ’s 5th mini album, “OO-LI”. The song reached a monstrous level around October 2024, becoming a viral hit not only in South Korea but worldwide. WOODZ also earned tens of awards in different South Korean music programs, including the top award on Inkigayo and Music Bank, showcasing his great presence in the K-Charts.
The song has now spent 70 consecutive weeks in the top 10 on Melon’s ‘Top 100’, the longest ever by any song in Melon’s history. Ultimately, WOODZ surpassed NewJeans’s “Hype Boy” at 49 weeks, followed by BTS’s “Dynamite” at 36 consecutive weeks. It is expected that WOODZ will extend his record for a couple more weeks with this fascinating song.
