Top soccer player rescued after earthquake in Turkey

On Monday, February 6, in the late afternoon, it was announced that more individuals were still missing as a result of the earthquake that left a big portion of Turkey in ruins.

Recall that an earthquake of catastrophic size that jolted the entire nation just a few hours ago caused Turkey to undergo one of the worst events ever. More than 3,700 people were killed and more than 16,500 others were injured, according to Turkish and Syrian authorities.

turkeyFayçal Moqdad, the Syrian ambassador to the UN, said that the assistance would reach “all Syrians throughout the territory” following the devastating earthquake and its aftershocks.

Christian Atsu, a former footballer for Newcastle United and Chelsea, was reported missing a few hours ago but was later found alive after a difficult search among the debris.

According to a local media in Turkey, the athlete was found alive in the middle of a collapsed building with many injuries to his right foot and breathing problems.

According to reports, Christian’s current crew was also impacted, however some members, such Onur Ergün and Burak Oksuz, were able to escape the catastrophic earthquake’s wreckage on their own.

Tanner Savut, the Hatayspor sporting director, is still unaccounted for, and no new information on his whereabouts has been made available.
