New details have come to light about the long-awaited prequel to ‘The Hunger Games‘, where it is revealed that in this next film there will be a change in relation to the story told by the book on which it is based, the one titled ‘Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes’ by Suzanne Collins, published in 2020.

This upcoming film will tell the story of Coriolanus Snow and his pupil from District 12, Lucy Gray, an event that took place many years before the original plot starring Katniss Everdeen. In which the future president of Panem must understand how society is governed in the world in which he lives, this being part of the changes that will take place.

As confirmed by producer Nina Jacobson in a recent interview with Polygon, in this production there will be a prologue where detailed information will be given about the years that marked Snow, given that the majority of people who will see this film already know the tyrant President. This is a detail not found in the original novel.

People seriously starve and do whatever it takes to survive during the war. This is important because it’s an essential part of who he is and who he will become later in the story“, the producer shared about the addition of the next movie.

The film directed by Francis Lawrence will be released on November 17th of this year, 2023, starring the actor Tom Blyth in the role of Coriolanus Snow and the actress Rachel Zegler as Lucy Gray, where we can see this change in the story that will not be faithful to the original novel.
