King Charles III and Queen Camilla became the official sovereigns of the United Kingdom on May 6 at Westminster Abbey and the coronation ceremony was deemed a huge success. However, not many people know that the royal couple will have a second coronation ceremony in Edinburgh, Scotland and its details were recently revealed.
The ceremony is going to take place on July 5 at St. Giles Cathedral and the royal couple will be presented with the Honours of Scotland which include King James V’s crown, a scepter, and the sword of State. The regalia is going to be collected by a procession in which around 100 people from Edinburgh will participate.
The procession is going to start at Holyroodhouse Palace and everyone will walk to St. Giles Cathedral where Charles and Camilla are going to receive the Honours of Scotland during a National Service of Thanksgiving. In addition, the Royal Regiment of Scotland and the Shetland pony Cruachan IV will be part of the event.
At the end of the ceremony, a 21-gun salute is going to be performed from Edinburgh Castle and the royal procession is going to return to Holyroodhouse Palace where Red Arrows of the Royal Air Force will perform a flypast. The international and local media are eagerly waiting for the royal’s second ceremony which is expected to be a huge success just like the first one now that their popularity has increased.
