Taylor Swift made an appearance at the Los Angeles premiere of Toy Story 5, surprising both moviegoers and her fans. The event took place shortly before the movie’s official theatrical release on June 19, 2026. Speculation about the singer attending had been growing since she announced her original song, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” written and performed for the film’s soundtrack. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the hitmaker arrived through a private entrance before joining the cast and creative team for photos. She was seen alongside actors including Tom Hanks, Joan Cusack, and Tim Allen, while also posing with life-size versions of the beloved animated characters.

Her new song becomes an immediate success

Taylor Swift released “I Knew It, I Knew You” on June 5, 2026, and the song quickly achieved impressive milestones across multiple streaming platforms. Within its release day, it reportedly became one of the biggest country songs of the year and the most popular soundtrack song of 2026. The track blends country influences with Taylor Swift’s storytelling style and was written specifically for the film. When announcing the project, the “Blank Space” creator explained that she had loved the Toy Story franchise since childhood and felt inspired after seeing an early version of the movie.

“I’ve always dreamed of getting to write for these characters who I’ve adored since I was a 5 year old kid … I fell instantly in love with Toy Story 5 when I was lucky enough to see it in its early stages, and I wrote this song as soon as I got home from the screening,” she said on an Instagram post.

Meanwhile, Toy Story 5 will open in several international markets between June 17, 2026 and June 19, 2026.
