Shakira, Mariah Carey, and Lauryn Hill are among the 17 artists nominated for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2026. The nominees on February 25, 2026, include ten of the 17 acts as first-time nominees. Those include Jeff Buckley, Wu Tang Clan, Lauryn Hill, Luther Vandross, Pink, Shakira, INXS, New Edition, Melissa Etheridge, and Phil Collins as a solo artist. This marks an important milestone for the eligible musicians and performers, who are now eligible for one of music’s most recognized honors.

In addition, seven artists return to the ballot after being nominated in previous years. Those include Oasis, Iron Maiden, Mariah Carey, Sade, Billy Idol, The Black Crowes, and Joy Division and New Order as a combined act. It is the third nomination for Oasis, Iron Maiden, Mariah Carey, Joy Division, and New Order. Meanwhile, the Black Crowes and Billy Idol were first nominated in 2025. Similarly, Sade received her first nomination in 2024, obtaining a second nomination this year. The Hall often highlights artists who are experiencing renewed public interest, and several nominees have recently seen renewed popularity through tours, film soundtracks, or viral social media moments.

To be eligible, artists must have released their first commercial recording at least 25 years before nomination. More than 1,200 artists, historians, and industry professionals will vote. Finally, the 2026 inductees will be announced in April 2026.
