March 21, 2025, marked the dramatic finale of Newtopia, the series starring BLACKPINK’s Jisoo and Park Jung Min. In episode 8, the duo battles waves of zombies and dodges death as they try to survive in that mayhem. As Kang Young Joo (Jisoo) runs from armed attackers, she finds help from a mysterious train station worker, Park Eun Chae. Thanks to her guide, she makes contact with her mom and gets directions to safety.

Meanwhile, Lee Jae Yun (Park Jung Min) tries to rescue his crew and learns where Young Joo is hiding. Their reunion is heartwarming, but here’s the curveball—when Joo looks for Park Eun Chae to thank her, she’s told the woman’s been dead for 10 hours, making her identity an intriguing development (possibly acting as a ghost character).

As the survivors escape, Squad Leader Kim Yeong Man stays behind, knowing he’s turning into a zombie. In a tearful moment, Hwang Gyeong Sik grants him mercy and ends his life before the infection takes over. The team bonds even harder while keeping Aaron Park alive a little longer. And just like that, Newtopia with the chance of season two coming up.
