NewJeans’ legal battle with ADOR is heating up. After losing the injunction in March, the girls are still locked in a contract validity lawsuit they have to win if they want to exit the agency for good. The second hearing is set for June 5, and things are looking messy, especially with the whole HYBE vs. Min Hee Jin corporate feud happening too.

Legal expert Bae Jin Sung told The Korea Herald that the injunction loss doesn’t mess up the case for NewJeans, but it doesn’t help either. The main issue is whether ADOR broke contract terms and mistreated the girls, which the quintet has been trying to prove. But here’s the twist: even if ex-ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin wins her shareholder dispute with HYBE, it doesn’t automatically help NewJeans. These are two different battles that might not influence each other.

As of now, NewJeans are still contract-bound, which means they can’t release new music, do live shows, or have separate social media accounts without the agency’s permission. The girl group’s last music appearance was in Hong Kong, back in March, where they performed at ComplexCon.
