Celebrities moved from the Met Gala to parties across Manhattan
The Met Gala 2026 did not end when the red carpet closed on May 4, 2026! After the formal event at the Met Museum, the celebrity attendees changed into new outfits and went to several after parties around Manhattan. These second looks are often more relaxed, party-ready than the main red carpet dresses and outfits. Some stars choose sheer dresses, suits, short gowns, or risky fashion pieces that get just as much attention online as their main looks of the night.

Past after-party looks helped set high expectations
Saint Laurent had one of the most anticipated after-parties of the night. Ambassadors and friends of the brand included BLACKPINK’s Rosé, Charli XCX, Connor Storrie, and more. All the attendees made it to People’s Bar in Chelsea after the main event. In addition, the parties’ guest lists are not as exclusive as the actual Met Gala’s, so pop stars like Tate McRae and Olivia Rodrigo attended the after-parties, despite not being present at the Met Gala itself.

Stars attended several major parties after the gala
This year, many celebrities left The Surrey Hotel, where some of them had also prepared earlier in the day. The after parties took place at major New York spots such as The Mark, The Carlyle, Maxime’s, The Standard’s Boom Boom Room, the Amber Room, and The Twenty Two in Union Square. Beyoncé and Jay-Z also held their own party, according to Rihanna.
