Louis Tomlinson celebrated One Direction’s 16th anniversary by looking back at the group’s music and sharing emotional memories with fans online. On July 23, 2026, the artist revealed that he planned to listen to the band’s entire music catalog from beginning to end, describing the experience as a “Proper trip down memory lane.”
“Playing the whole discography top to bottom! Proper trip down memory lane. Some shockers on this first record hahaha,” he said about the “Up All Night Album”
As he reflected on the songs that made One Direction’s career iconic, the singer also shared personal stories about the group’s early years and the moments that have stayed with him throughout the years. One memory stood out while he listened to the song More Than This from the boy group’s debut record. Tomlinson talked about how the track reminded him of his late bandmate’s voice discovery.
“Pretty sure this was when Liam first discovered his falsetto, I remember how proud we all were. He sounds incredible!” The 1D member posted on his Instagram story.
The “Back To You” singer also posted a heartfelt message thanking fans for supporting One Direction throughout the past 16 years. He said that the group’s journey changed their lives and also remembered Liam Payne, who passed away in October 2024 at the age of 31 in Argentina. The artist opened up, saying he misses his friend every day.
