Sony Pictures Animation and Netflix have received a great ovation over their latest release, “Kpop Demon Hunters.” While the film’s soundtrack songs have reached astonishing spots on the charts in the United States, they were ready to dominate the Box Office with a theatrical release of the acclaimed film.
The “Kpop Demon Hunters” film has soared to the top of the weekend box office in the United States with a special two-day sing-along release. This rare move for Netflix has hit the nail on the head, as the movie has surpassed the New Line and Warner Bros’ horror film “Weapons,” with an estimated $18 million over “Weapons” $15.6 million in its third weekend.
The iconic animated film drew an impressive 1.5 million admissions across Saturday and Sunday. Just on Saturday, August 23, “Kpop Demon Hunters” outperformed “Weapons,” earning only $6.4 million compared to the animated feature’s stronger numbers. Congratulations to all the crew and cast of “Kpop Demon Hunters”
