The Sussex family was invited to the United Kingdom by King Charles

King Charles has reportedly offered royal accommodation to Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their children ahead of their expected visit to the United Kingdom next month. According to PEOPLE, Prince Harry and Meghan are planning to travel with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, marking the family’s first visit to Harry’s home country together since 2022. Their trip also connects with the one-year countdown to the Invictus Games Birmingham 2027, a sporting competition the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have long supported.
King Charles extends an invitation
Reportedly, King Charles offered his younger son and his family accommodation on a royal estate. However, the Sussex family has not responded to the invitation so far. The British monarchy previously offered Prince Harry a place to stay at Buckingham Palace during earlier visits, but those invitations were declined. Despite this recent invite, no additional security measures would be provided to the Sussex family, as they are no longer working royals, and those decisions remain under the authority of the Home Office.
Security concerns remain unresolved

Security has remained one of the biggest concerns in Prince Harry’s relationship with the royal family. Ever since he and Meghan Markle stepped back from the monarchy in 2020, they lost taxpayer-funded police protection, a decision the Duke of Sussex has challenged in court.
“The U.K. is my home. The U.K. is central to the heritage of my children and a place I want them to feel at home as much as where they live at the moment in the United States,” Harry affirmed. “That cannot happen if there is no possibility to keep them safe when they are on U.K. soil.”
Although no reunion has been officially scheduled, this is not the first time Prince Harry has met King Charles. The son and father last met on September 10, 2025, during a private 55-minute conversation at the King’s London residence.
