The coronation of King Charles III is just around the corner, and the celebrations in honor of the new king of England, successor of the legendary Elizabeth II, will begin on Saturday May 6th and will last until Monday May 8th.

The first day will be the traditional ceremony where the King will travel from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey, well, traditional until it was revealed that this procession will be made in a golden carriage with eight horses of the purest lineage, in addition, the procession will be accompanied by members of the three armies.

Then the King Charles III will receive the crown, which has been modified to fit his head and with new arrangements to suit the King’s taste. Under the throne which the King will occupy will be placed a stone from Scotland, known as the Scone Stone, which is an ancient symbol of the Highlands.

The following day there will be a massive concert broadcast by the BBC featuring international icons and contemporary stars, as well as a light show that will be broadcast in the sky and on various buildings throughout the United Kingdom.

This will be followed by another concert by the Coronation Choir, made up of members of the LGBTQ+ community, healthcare workers, refugees and even people with hearing difficulties. Charles III wants with this gesture that his reign will be remembered for being very inclusive with all sectors of society.

.

On the same day there will be a grand luncheon to which all UK citizens are invited, the following day, Monday the 8th, has been declared a national holiday in the United Kingdom. All this schedule sounds really encouraging, until many started to complain about the waste of money that will be made.

Netizens are criticizing the royal family and King Charles III for making a three-day celebration, wasting British citizens’ money, which could be directed to other things like health, education or food security, since the country is in an economic recession.
