King Charles III has proven to everyone he can still rule the British monarchy despite his multiple health scares. While he celebrated his birthday with a charity initiative, the King is also revisiting some places he used to go when he was younger, including the base where he trained.
The Monarch of the United Kingdom visited the Commando Training Centre in Lympstone, near Exmouth on November 15 to meet recruits. In 1974, the then Prince of Wales completed three days of commando training and he was surprised with a picture of himself tackling the high ropes.
On top of that, the King presented special honors and a green beret to two trainees due to their impressive skills at passing through training. This is the first time a king has presented the badge since his grandfather George VI in 1939.
There’s no doubt that King Charles III enjoyed his visit to the base. It is expected the King will be attending some other royal duties during the last couple of months of 2024 to confirm the monarchy is still standing strong.
