King Charles III is once again the talk of the town after a rumour widespread among the British people regarding approving a new Bank holiday this summer. Get to know the date and what kind of event is worthy of the King’s attention.
Several British media outlets have reported that the Monarch of the United Kingdom is believed to be considering whether to declare June 15, a Monday, as a national bank holiday in Scotland. It comes after Scotland will be making their first appearance at a World Cup finals since 1998.

The strategic date also comes after Scotland will play their tournament opener against Haiti in Boston. The match begins at 9 pm local time in America. This will actually be a 2 am kick-off time for those watching in Scotland, so it would be a late watch for those who usually have work on Monday.
Despite it’s not confirmed yet, it was also reported that a Royal Proclamation from King Charles III could be on the way after Scotland’s First Minister, John Swinney, already addressed the rumours:
Not only is this a historic sporting event, but it’s also a chance for Scotland to be on the world stage. That is why I am taking steps to ensure the Monday after our opening game should be a national bank holiday, so that – no matter the outcome of the match we can all come together to share the occasion.”
