King Charles III is once again at the center of a controversy due to the recent declarations of some British government officials. Earlier this week, it was reported that the monarch is expected to explain to the British taxpayers what their money is being used for.
A source close to Buckingham Palace leaked information about Charles’ luxury demands and described them as a shameful waste of money. The news outraged the British people as the country has been struggling financially since leaving the European Union in 2020.

The British government agreed with the idea of allocating €9 million to have the portrait of King Charles III hung in the main institutions and public buildings in the country. This would include schools and town halls and the money would be collected from the taxes of the British people.
Economist experts have given their opinion regarding the topic and said that this is a tone-deaf move by the government and a complete waste of money. The report also caused discontent in the continent as Europe is currently suffering from a financial recession in due to Ukraine’s conflict.
As if things could not get any worse, the local press has also reported that King Charles III’s coronation will cost almost €100 million, something that the British people can not afford under the current climate. People in the country are preparing to protest and show their disagreement with the king’s demands.
