Just days before the official coronation ceremony, King Charles III has drawn the attention of the media by making two controversial appointments to two of the nation’s political personalities, who will now be referred to as “baron and baroness”, following an imperial order given to them by the monarch.

The movements that Charles III is making within the British royalty, do not cease to be the subject of discussion among the media in his country and other parts of the world. His reign is being very questioned, thanks to all the controversies that have existed under his name and that of the entire royal family.

The first distinction and title he has made this past week, has been for Catherine Margaret Ashton. She was a Labour Party minister and a European Union diplomat, as well as a parliamentary under-secretary of state at the Department for Education and the Ministry of Justice between 1999 and 2007.

Among her actions, she contributed to negotiating a peace agreement between Serbia and Kosovo, and to achieving the nuclear agreement with Iran, the latter being recognized as one of her most important achievements.

However, he also held a variety of positions such as Secretary of State for the Environment and Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, as well as Chairman of the Conservative Party and Chairman of the BBC Trust.
