King Charles III and Queen Camilla are back in the spotlight after leading the historical Order of the Garter procession at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle for the first time. During the event, the current sovereigns of the United Kingdom greeted all the attendees and surprised everyone with their traditional tunics and white feathered hats.

On top of that, several royal members, such as Prince William, Kate Middleton, and Princess Anne, took part in this important event. The Order of the Garter was founded by King Edward III almost 700 years ago after being inspired by the stories of King Arthur & the Knights of the Round Table. It is currently composed of the Sovereign, the Prince of Wales, and 24 Companions who are granted membership to the Order by the King.

After the event, people were quick to point out that not every royal member attended the procession. Unsurprisingly, Prince Andrew did not show up for the second year in a row as he was stripped from his royal titles in 2022 due to his connections to Jeffrey Epstein. In the same vein, Prince Harry was absent as well since he gave up on his royal titles in 2020 to move to the United States with his wife, Meghan Markle.

Despite this, King Charles III and Queen Camilla’s first time leading the Order of the Garter procession was a complete success according to several royal experts. It can be said that their reign as the new monarchs of the United Kingdom is off to a good start and their popularity will continue to grow.
