IU became the talk of the town for all the right reasons after her appearance at the “7th Newsis Hallyu Expo’ (2025 K-Expo),” which was held at the Crystal Ballroom of Lotte Hotel in Sogong-dong, Seoul. The idol has received her flowers for being awarded a special recognition.
The Hallyu Expo aims to promote the sustainability of the Korea Wave and enhance the competitiveness in the cultural industry. This year, IU became the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism award recipient for all of her contributions to the South Korean entertainment industry for her work in Netflix’s series, “When Life Gives You Tangerines.” The idol delivered a heartwarming speech:
“I am honored and delighted to receive the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award. I will continue to contribute to culture and work to ensure more people can experience and enjoy K-culture.”
There’s no doubt that IU is having a phenomenal year with the smash series, “When Life Gives You Tangerines,” and her solo musical projects. Congratulations to the idol for this incredible honor for her contributions to the Kpop and K Drama scene.
