Selena Gomez spoke out against the abuse Justin Bieber’s wife Hailey has endured. It is also well known that for many years, both of their followers have talked about an alleged rivalry.
However, as a result of things getting out of hand, Hailey started to receive death threats and informed Selena Gomez of them. Prior to this, she had asked her fans to cease doing that, as she utterly disapproves of it:
“No one should have to experience hate or bullying. I have always advocated for kindness and I really want all of this to end,” she concluded.
A few hours later, Justin’s wife appeared to express her gratitude for Selena Gomez’s support of her:
“I want to thank Selena for speaking up, as she and I have been talking for the past few weeks about how to get past this ongoing narrative between her and I.”
On the other hand, he acknowledged that the situation has been extremely damaging and that the past few weeks have been very difficult for everyone concerned.
She also made note of the extreme divide among users brought about by social networks:
“Things can always be taken out of context or constructed differently than they were intended. We all need to be more thoughtful about what we post and what we say, including myself,” she commented.
