Actor and KPop star Cha Eunwoo is reportedly considering a role in the upcoming drama “Seorabeol Knife,” which could become one of his next acting projects. His agency, Fantagio, said on August 11, 2026, that the series is one of several productions he is reviewing. The upcoming drama shares the same fictional universe as “Bon Appetit, Your Majesty,” the 2025 hit show directed by Jang Tae Yoo. The director is also expected to take the lead in the project.
The possible casting comes after Cha Eunwoo faced public attention over a tax assessment earlier in 2026. Reports said the National Tax Service had initially imposed an additional tax bill of about 20 billion won related to income handled through a company established by his mother. After a review involving overlapping tax categories, the amount was reportedly reduced to 13 billion won (about $9.2 million). The True Beauty actor paid the final amount in full on April 9, 2026, but later filed an appeal challenging the assessment on August 2, 2026.

Cha Eunwoo enlisted in the military in July 2025 and is currently serving with the Defense Ministry’s Service Support Group. His most recent acting project was Netflix’s “The Wonderfools,” which was shot before his official military enlistment and released in May 2026. If he is confirmed as part of the cast of “Seorabeol Knife,” the series could mark an important return to the acting scene after his military service and tax evasion controversy. However, Fantagio has not publicly confirmed whether the Korean star has accepted the role.
