In his most recent collaboration campaign, BTSJungkook leaves his handwriting in Calvin Klein’s new underwear collection and more personal details to make this project even more meaningful.

In conversation with GQ magazine, the idol was asked about the inspiration behind the personal designs he creates for every garment, in particular those drawing on the underwear pieces of the new collection.

“The little drawings are actually graphics inspired by my own tattoos, but not exactly a copy. The CK team helped to develop them and make sure these are extra special.”

Jungkook demonstrates his dedication in this project to be perfect and that he is proud of the results and the meaning behind the final design:

“I spent a lot of time thinking about which graphic should go where on the individual pieces. The underwear is so iconic, so this really is adding a little bit of my design essence in a meaningful way.”

In addition, the BTS Golden Maknae talked about how special it was for him having his signature on the inside of the denim pieces. “Having my signature embroidered in gold inside the jacket and jeans was a detail that meant a lot to me,” in particular because it was a hidden detail.

“I spent quite a bit of time developing it—sitting with my iPad, rewriting the signature over and over until it felt perfect. It ultimately is a secret message of appreciation to my fans.”

The new Jungkook x Calvin Klein collection will be available online from May 19th, 6pm EDT.
