The speculation gained momentum because of BTS’ current involvement with the soccer tournament. On May 14, 2026, FIFA confirmed that BTS would co-headline the first halftime show in World Cup history during the final match on July 19, 2026. The group is scheduled to perform at New York New Jersey Stadium alongside Madonna and Shakira, while Coldplay’s Chris Martin will help oversee the event as curator.
