BTS fans have started speculating about a possible connection between the group and the official FIFA World Cup 2026 album. The chatter around this possibility began on June 1, 2026, when FIFA’s official account shared promotional posts announcing that the album lineup was being finalized. The posts revealed that the full list of artists would be announced on June 3, 2026, ahead of the album’s release on June 5, 2026.

The speculation gained momentum because of BTS’ current involvement with the soccer tournament. On May 14, 2026, FIFA confirmed that BTS would co-headline the first halftime show in World Cup history during the final match on July 19, 2026. The group is scheduled to perform at New York New Jersey Stadium alongside Madonna and Shakira, while Coldplay’s Chris Martin will help oversee the event as curator. Due to these signs, BTS fans believed a song contribution to the album would be the next predictable step.

However, FIFA revealed the final tracklist for the official album, and BTS is absent from the lineup. The project, which has 18 songs, boasts an impressive artist lineup with names like BLACKPINK’s Lisa, Shakira, and Tyla. But despite the initial excitment and speculation, BTS only remains as part of the halftime show in the final match, scheduled for Sunday, July 19, 2026. However, the official poster shared by FIFA hints at more artists being revealed at a later date with a “more to come” sign at the bottom of the picture. For now, BTS fans (known as ARMY) remain patient until the official musical names involved with the FIFA World Cup 2026 are revealed.
