Britney Spears had fans buzzing on July 12, 2025, after she posted a dancing video and claimed she had adopted a “beautiful baby girl” named Lennon London Spears. The pop icon said the little one wore a dress that read “I’m NEW HERE,” and the caption was loaded with emojis and sparkle. After this post, fans thought the pop princess had actually welcomed a new family member into her life.

But according to Billboard and Rolling Stone, Britney did not adopt a baby. It looks like she was just playing around online again. Interestingly, she has done this before, like in December 2024, when she told everyone she was moving to Mexico, even claiming she was house hunting. That turned out to be false, too! In the same post about Lennon, she added that she was “moving to Italy,” possibly trolling readers.

Britney Spears is already mom to two sons, Sean, 19, and Jayden, 18, with her ex-husband Kevin Federline. Though they had been apart for a while after Kevin moved to Hawaii with the boys, Britney recently shared that she spent Christmas with Jayden and posted a sweet photo with him. “He is 6’3 and his hands are so big now,” she gushed. And while the new baby adoption announcement wasn’t true, the pop princess clearly shook up social media for a few moments.
