On January 30th, TMZ reports the sad passing of the actress Catherine O’Hara of ‘Home Alone‘ at 71, shocking many fans due to the recent resurgence of her career working on many new outstanding projects.

After the news came out, the Canadian manager confirmed to PEOPLE the death of the star without sharing further details about the place and reason of her passing, which will undoubtedly leave a void in the entertainment industry.

Catherine O’Hara, who made her debut in the 70s in ‘Double Negative,’ consolidated her career as a comedy legend in ‘SCTV.’ She continued her path as a Hollywood star with her role in ‘Beetlejuice‘ in 1988 and working with important directors like Martin Scorsese.

With the success of ‘Home Alone,’ she already had a name in the industry; that made her have an easy return to the center of attention in recent years with ‘Schitt’s Creek,’ which earned her an Emmy in 2020, and her return for ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice‘ in 2024, her role in the second season of ‘The Last of Us,’ and ‘The Studio‘ in 2025.
