King Charles III and Queen Camilla’s coronation ceremony took place on May 6 at Westminster Abbey and it was considered a huge success as more than 1000 people attended it while millions watched it around the world. However, one of the attendees has come forward to openly criticize the event.
Among the attendees, there were many delegates from different countries all around the world. One of them was Nick Cave, a legendary musician from Australia, and he was not afraid of giving his opinion about the event. According to him, it was a spectacular ceremony but not everything was perfect and he has some criticisms.
A few days ago, Cave recently gave an interview on the Ways to Change the World podcast with Krishnan Guru-Murthy. He revealed that he felt “extremely bored” at King Charles III’s coronation and despite there being a few moments when he felt impressed, his overall opinion regarding the coronation was boring
“I went along to the Coronation entirely out of curiosity and found the whole thing to be acutely interesting, to say the least, I would say… because I thought I would feel things when I went to the coronation. But I didn’t know that I would feel them in such an extreme way and they were conflicted feelings, sometimes I felt extremely bored, other times completely awestruck by the event, extremely moved by the music.”
Although Nick Cave himself received a lot of criticism for attending the ceremony, the Australian singer revealed that he wanted to be part of it because he found himself weeping when he was watching Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral so he could not ignore Buckingham Palace’s invitation.
