When the HBO series The Last of Us came out, people couldn’t help but feel great excitement, as it is one of the most acclaimed video games of the last few years, so as always, HBO did very well and created a fandom of people who really enjoy survival games.
Unfortunately, rather sad news has been shared for the fandom, as it was revealed that The Last of Us Online has been cancelled, but not to worry, because even more things are happening around those new productions
The Last of Us has been cancelled
The Last of Us Online was about an online multiplayer experience that was being developed since The Last of Us: Part II. And the one who spoke about it was Naughty Dog:
“we realize that many of you have been waiting for news about the project we’ve been calling The Last of Us Online. There’s no easy way to say this: we’ve made the incredibly difficult decision to halt development on that game. We know this news will be difficult for many, especially our dedicated The Last of Us Factions community, who have been following our multiplayer ambitions with enthusiasm. We’re just as devastated as we are at the studio that we wanted them to get their hands on it.”
Undoubtedly, the news has made fans of the games feel very sad about it, but surely we will have much more of this universe so interesting and full of creatures that will surely take away your sleep.
We will either “become a live service game studio or continue to focus on the single-player narrative games that have defined Naughty Dog’s heritage”.
