The Zelda movie is a fact and people can’t hide their happiness, since Nintendo is making the decision to have audiovisual content of their stories and they have done it very well since the Mario Bros movie, which broke many records.
Nintendo is making the right decision alongside the production companies, and after the confirmation of the Zelda Live action, people have been very interested, even sharing the actors they would love for the role. The excitement is so great that even Shigeru Miyamoto has spoken about it.

The movie is expected to be more successful than Mario Bros, but it will definitely fill the theaters and perform well at the box office, as people are very excited.

As for The Legend of Zelda live-action movie, I know that we face a big hurdle in producing a movie that won’t disappoint fans around the world. With this challenge in mind, I’ve been discussing this project for about ten years with Avi Arad, president of Arad Productions Inc. Movies are like games: you have to put a lot of time into them until you get something you’re happy with. That’s why films need sponsors who can support them through to completion.
For the production of our films, Nintendo itself acts as a sponsor. To produce the film, we have gathered a group of people who are willing to devote time to the production until we get something we are sure of.
For The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Chris Meledandri, founder and CEO of Illumination, and I had creative control of all aspects of the film’s production, and together we continued production until we were satisfied. For The Legend of Zelda live-action movie, Avi Arad and I are taking a lot of time to prepare. We hope to put out something good that will meet everyone’s expectations, so look forward to it.
