Despite all the scandals, Miss Universe is coming and with that, the names of the contestants that could win the crown have been popularized, but the one that draws the most attention is undoubtedly a transgender woman, who is one of the favorites to win.

Last Friday, October 6, Marina Machete, a 28-year-old model and flight attendant, was elected Miss Portugal 2023. This allows her to represent her nation in the next edition of Miss Universe. The transgender candidate who will represent Portugal in the next Miss Universe 2023 starts as one of the favorites to win the pageant.
Recall that the legendary Angela Ponce of Spain was the first transgender woman at Miss Universe 2018, which was held in Thailand, and the candidate of the Netherlands who will also participate this year.
“I am proud to be the first trans woman to compete for the title of Miss Universe Portugal,” Machete had recently stated.
The names of the favorites to take the crown are already beginning to sound.
Some experts and missologists see her as a clear favorite to succeed R’Bonney Gabriel, Miss Universe 2022 from the United States, and become the first transgender woman to win the ultimate universal beauty pageant.
