In North Korea, a law was created to punish with the death penalty all those who distribute any type of South Korean entertainment, which has led to intensifying the strong measures for people who watch South Korean culture.

According to the Transitional Justice Working Group report, since 2011, 27 people sentenced to death have been executed and their deaths were made in public, some of which were for viewing and distributing the content of K-Pop, the musical phenomenon that has grown worldwide in recent years.

.

Most of the murders of K-Pop consumers took place in the city of Hyesan, located on the border with China. This city has been identified as the main route for smugglers who introduce prohibited entertainment material.

The public should look to the killings of the accused, including the relatives of sentenced persons, as a form of warning if they continue to consume South Korean entertainment material, the report cites.

According to the deserters interviewed, the executions are carried out by three executioner, each of whom must shoot three times so that the sentenced person dies after receiving nine bullet wounds in total.
