G-Dragon has become one of the clear referents of the Kpop scene not only for his iconic tracks with BIG BANG, but also for his major efforts to preserve South Korean heritage through the generations as an official ambassador of UNESCO.

The idol expanded the social impact of the Kpop artist onto the international stage during the 48th Session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, held at BEXCO in Busan from July 13 to 29.
During the sessions, G-Dragon officially launched the global fundraising campaign “HERITAGE IN PEACE” in partnership with UNESCO. The campaign will support restoration efforts for World Heritage sites threatened by armed conflict and climate change.

“Protecting our heritage is not simply about preserving the past—it is about creating peace for the future.”

Several pieces of footage of G-Dragon’s speech quickly became viral on social media, helping raise public awareness of World Heritage preservation. Ultimately, the initiative has been highlighted as a notable example of using an artist’s intellectual property to cause a social impact with an international organization. What an amazing moment for G-Dragon’s career.
