Evan, formerly known as Heeseung of ENHYPEN, recently returned to KBS Kpop’s YouTube program “LeeMujin Service” to showcase his new musical direction and discuss his artistic growth. The episode, released on June 29, 2026, marked his first appearance on the popular series in four years. During the program, Evan performed his most recent tracks, “Ride or Die,” beginning with a piano version of the song before moving to the emotional “Overflow.”
The singer also spoke about how his songwriting process has changed over the years. Evan personally participated in writing, composing and producing both songs on his debut solo era. Regarding the songwriting process, he revealed:
“I used to say it took me three months to write a song,” the solo star said. “Now, it takes anywhere from three to six hours to finish a demo. People say once you find the structure or a catchy melody, everything comes together more easily, and I experienced that with ‘Ride or Die.'”
In addition to performing his own work, he showcased his vocal abilities by covering “Day 1” by Honne, “Save Your Tears” by The Weeknd and “Eyes, Nose, Lips” by Taeyang. When asked about his goals, Evan explained that he wants to become an artist whose music continues evolving without creative limits while exploring many different styles.
“I like a variety of styles, and I have a desire to show them. I want to become an artist whose music itself has an alternative charm — someone who keeps extending my musical roots without limits.”
Evan officially released his debut digital single, “Ride or Die,” on June 22, 2026, and has continued promoting his new songs through music programs, online content, and live performances. The former ENHYPEN member will appear at the 2026 SBS Gayo Daejeon Summer in Ilsan on August 9, 2026, and KCON LA 2026 in California on August 16, 2026.
