Spotify knows that getting concert tickets has become one of the most frustrating things about being a music fan. Many people wait online for the second tickets to go on sale, only to discover that seats are already gone within minutes. Oftentimes, buyers and fans blame scalpers and resale sites for buying large amounts of tickets before real concertgoers get an actual chance to gett tickets themselves. However, Spotify is now trying to make that change with a new feature called Reserved by Spotify, which hopes to make the process fair for loyal fans.

The new program is designed for Spotify Premium users in the United States who are at least 18 years old. The music streaming platform will use listening history to identify an artist’s most dedicated fans, instead of utilizing random queues or fan verification systems. According to Spotify, fans may be able to buy up to two reserved tickets during that early access period. The company also confirmed that these tickets will not include extra Spotify service fees.

The platform explained that the number of tickets available will depend on the artist, tour, and city. It also said it hopes the program can reward fans who spend the most time supporting artists through streaming their music. In addition, the move reflects how important superfans have become in the music industry, especially in pop and K-pop fandoms, where streaming activity plays a major role. With this decision, Spotify believes listening habits could help make concerts feel more accessible and fair again.
