KPop artists became a major part of the Met Gala 2026
The Met Gala 2026 red carpet on May 4, 2026, saw strong KPop attendance, with several major stars from the genre making appearances at the event. Lisa made history after being confirmed in late 2025 as part of the Met Gala host committee, becoming the first KPop act to receive that role. She returned to the event for a second time in a white gown that had already gained attention on TikTok before she reached the carpet. Her look was designed by Robert Wun and included a matching veil held by three-dimensional replicas of her arms in traditional Thai dance positions.
BLACKPINK members delivered different styles on the carpet
Alongside Lisa, her BLACKPINK members Jennie, Rosé, and Jisoo were also spotted at the event. Jennie, who has a strong fashion presence, wore a Chanel column gown covered in large silver sequins. She completed the look with Chanel High Jewellery pieces and thin brows. Rosé attended the Met Gala for the third time and wore a black Saint Laurent strapless gown with a glittery bird attached to her hip. That accessory referenced The Birds, the 1949 painting by Georges Braque. Jisoo also made her long-awaited Met Gala debut, wearing a sparkling custom Dior dress with a sculptural waist detail and flowers that matched her hair, referencing a floral theme tied to the night’s dress code.

KPop Demon Hunters also made strong first appearances

aespa members Karina and Ningning also had important debut moments. Karina wore a sleeveless Prada gown with jeweled details, a black coat, purple and green earrings, and white hair accessories. Then, Ning Ning appeared in Gucci, wearing a black sheer off-the-shoulder gown with ruffles. EJAE, the singing voice of KPop Demon Hunters’ Rumi, wore a custom Swarovski silver gown inspired by a sculptural Venus and female artists from the Joseon dynasty. Audrey Nuna, the singing voice of Mira in the same movie, chose a black and white splatter coat and hat by Robert Wun. Finally, Ahn Hyo Seop, Jinu’s speaking voice actor, also made his Met Gala debut in a custom Valentino look, wearing a black and gold patterned suit, a gold shirt, a red scarf, and gold studded shoes.
